Diary 1

Diary
My website went online on the 17th of November. My goal is to give this beautiful breed some public attention so more people can enjoy the beautiful appearance en great character of the pixie-bob. At first I wasn’t planning to start a cattery, but that changed when I got to know Linda van Mechelen from Holland.

But let us start with my search for a cat you can hug but that has the personality of a dog. When I see how much friendship there is between Gino and our Jack Russel, I sometimes get a little jealous. How sweet I think Pukkie is and how much I like her, my heart goes to a cat.
Gerry, a male cat from three weeks old and raised by Pukkie, our Jack Russel, was a cat with dog traits. Everything we ate, she ate as well. Whether it were cherries or plumes, he ate it.

He joined us everywhere. When we went for a walk outside or when we went shopping he followed us. He was everyone’s friend. I had what I always wanted, a nice social cat who came to me when he saw me. I could ask for ten kisses and got them. He was the nicest cat I ever met.

One day he disappeared without a trace. It was about two weeks before he became six months old.

Flyers, vets, asylums, we have searched everywhere but we never saw him again. I felt so bad and miss him still.

As a little girl I wished for a big white cat with a nice fluffy tail. So after loosing our sweet Gerry I went looking for one. I also wanted to search for a new playmate for Pukkie. I started my search on the internet. Until I came in contact with Ida from Holland who had white kittens with a fluffy tail.

They were the result of an accident, a combination of a Turkish Van and a Maine Coon.

I immediately felt in love with one of these kittens. The one I chose had a blue and a brown eye (also called odd eyed).

A few weeks later we went to pick her up in Oudkarspel in Holland. A long drive. Almost eight hundred km! There were three kittens I really liked but I chose the one that was an odd-eyed as you can see at this picture. I decided to take the one who stayed on my lap and that became Trixie.
