Diary 27

Diary
Friday we took Mientje to the vet in Sint-Truiden. She urinated next to the box and that's not a good sign. Thanks to a trick (read: lure in the form of a plastic bag) I was able to catch a lot of urine so Liesbeth could check if she had kidney stones again. There weren't any but she had a blatter infection again and she has to take antibiotics. She has had an injection and didn't do a thing. I have to say Liesbeth does it really well. And Mientje didn't show any fear. We agreed to make an echo after the treatment just to be sure. Mientje produces stones that don't break down. Her weight is a little low, 3,350 kg, but she doesn't have a problem any more with her back and she no longer urinates next to the box. But we know she will regularly have an infection. Now we know her history and she always go inside her box we know we have to be careful and react as soon as she does it next to it. We hope she can stay with us for a long time.
This is how Mientje looks like after having her medication.
