After my adventure with Trixie I started to look for information about Maine Coons. I have found a lot of catteries for this breed and not far from my home in Heers I was able to see them from up close. Everything was clean and tidy and the cats were very beautiful and nice animals.
At first I intended to buy one of these kittens. They were big and well built. But then I stumbled upon a cattery of the pixie-bob. The more I read about this breed the more I became interested.
Meanwhile I had sent an e-mail to Linda van Mechelen from Cattery Major Tess in Holland. She was open and honest and she answered all my questions. She even suggested to take a look here in Belgium because there were Pixie-bob kittens for sale in Belgium. She didn’t have a litter before 2007.
That was in 2006. I decided to visit this cattery in Belgium together with my neighbour, my sun and my cat Trixie (who sleeps and likes the most driving along inside the car). I told the breeder that I would like to have a litter for myself, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible.

That was in 2006. I decided to visit this cattery in Belgium together with my neighbour, my sun and my cat Trixie (who sleeps and likes the most driving along inside the car). I told the breeder that I would like to have a litter for myself, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible.
After some deliberation we decided to buy a kitten from Linda, a female that I would sterilise after she has had one litter. Linda only had cats that were straight foot and I was actually looking for a poly female. Her cats were so beautiful and well taken care of; nothing is too much for her as far as her pets are concerned.

I reserved a kitten by her. On the 12th of May 2007 Maya gave birth to five kittens of which one was born dead and another one died the next day due to complications on the umbilical cord. That was very hard for her. Luckily she has found a very good friend in Gerrit who helps her with everything, just like Hennie, her neighbour and friend. Megan has become everything I expected from a Pixie-bob. Affectionate, resourceful and a true playmate In the evening she sits on your lap and starts purring. It’s like they say: you don’t choose a pixie, a pixie-bob chooses you.
