Mona Lisa has delivered
Mona Lisa's delivery started Tuesday morning at 9:30.
She was already restless on Sunday and I had a feeling it wouldn't take much longer, only I didn't expect it to happen this fast.
The box was finished but it wasn't assembled yet. I already woke up a couple of times on Monday night because of her turning and when I stroked her tummy she calmed down, though I felt some movement. Mona Lisa has really surprised me with her pregnancy and she was actually too young, but Mike thought otherwise. Three healthy kittens are the result. Because it's her first nest and she is only seven months old herself I have kept her with me all the time, even at night.
Luckily I had prepared everything for in the box but it has become a large iron box which Rutger hastely brought upstairs.
She didn't want to go in there but she wanted to be on my lap all the time which of course wasn't possible. So I got inside the box with her and five minuts later the first kitten was born. In the meanwhile I had called the vet Nele Steegen in Borgloon because I didn't felt comfortable with her being so young. I just climbed back out of the box when she entered, she could as long as I stayed with her and number two was already on his way.
I was happy she was there the placenta didn't came down, but with an injection that was also solved.
On the echo there were two kittens visible but after investigation there appeared to be another one. Shortly after noon number three was born and that went quickly. Mona Lisa is a sweet caring mother and with Pukkie being in front of the box I don't need to worry, just enjoy this teenage mother with her beautiful kittens.
